Your Second Visit to Our Norman Practice

On your report visit we explain what we found and how we may be able to help you.

Upon your return visit, you will be greeted by a friendly staff member and we encourage you to bring your spouse or family member.  You will be escorted into a room to watch a brief video on chiropractic care, followed by a visit with Dr. Childs to review your report of findings.  This will be a complete report of any problems found and a treatment plan to make any corrections needed to restore proper nerve function and structural support.

If you have any questions, Dr. Childs encourages you to ask them. The more you understand the importance of your chiropractic care, the better you will respond.  This is also the visit that you will usually have your first chiropractic adjustment, any therapy or rehab needed and home instructions. This will be a clinical decision and may vary from patient to patient.

Your care will be decided for you individually and you may require subsequent visits.  Dr. Childs will assess your progress with each adjustment until you have completed your acute stage of care.  Then a re-examination will be performed to show your progress.

Dr. Chuck Asks some important questions of interest to Norman residents - Chiropractor Norman Dr. Chuck Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
Where do most Norman residents get their first vertebral subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of vertebral subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Norman newborn.
