Norman Chiropractor Dr. Chuck Childs

Norman Chiropractor Dr. Chuck Childs

"Why a chiropractor?

I was a 2nd year Pre-med student at the University of Nebraska when I first encountered chiropractic.  After personally experiencing the agony of low back pain, which was a direct result of hitting golf balls at the driving range, my dad suggested that I visit a chiropractor.  The pain was unbearable for three days and I was convinced that it would go away with rest.  With Dad’s persistence and the fact that I was not getting any better, I called and after my first adjustment it was a MIRACLE. The pain subsided.  The doctor asked what was I planning on doing with my education.  He encouraged me to shadow him as he treated patients and what I witnessed was people getting better and observing with my own eyes their relief from pain.  WOW!  That is all it took and I have not regretted my decision."

Dr. Chuck Asks some important questions of interest to Norman residents - Chiropractor Norman Dr. Chuck Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
Where do most Norman residents get their first vertebral subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of vertebral subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Norman newborn.
